Who do I speak to about my application?

Once you’ve submitted your Car Finance First application, we’ll assign a dedicated account manager to you. They’ll contact you over the phone to double-check your details and discuss the next steps. If you wish to speak to them directly, we’ll provide the number for their direct line once your application has been submitted and you’ll get an email from them to introduce themselves.

Questions we get asked a lot...

  • Will applying for finance affect my credit score?
    Good news; it doesn’t. As part of the application process, we perform a soft credit check to ensure we can get an approval from one of our lenders. Your credit report may be updated to reflect this, but your score will remain unaffected. A hard credit check is only done once you lock in a finance option.
  • Am I eligible for a car loan?
    If you’re over 18 years old and have a minimum of three years’ address history in the UK, you can apply for a car loan with Car Finance First.
  • How long does it take to get a car loan?
    Receiving a decision takes less time than you think. Once you hit send on your application, we’ll do the rest and offer results within minutes. We’ll then assign you an account manager who will phone to double-check your details and explain the next steps.
  • How much will my car finance cost?
    The total cost of financing your car is determined by how much money you borrow, plus interest and any other charges you’ll pay over the course of your loan repayment period. Hire purchase repayments generally include a portion of your loan and interest payment. The interest rate is influenced by several factors, like your credit score. Increasing your credit score can help you access more favourable rates.
  • I’ve been refused elsewhere; will my application be considered?
    Being refused by other lenders doesn’t automatically exclude you from applying, and we do our best to help customers who have previously been unsuccessful. It can be disheartening but loan or finance refusal doesn’t have to be the end of your search. Some of our lenders specialise in arranging car finance for people with bad credit.
  • Am I limited to certain car dealerships?
    Our only requirements are that your new car is sold at a reputable dealership based in the UK.
